PA Days for 4-7 age group.

Friday, Sep. 22 > Fun with Robots

Bee-Bots and Dash Robots will take center stage in our always-popular and exciting Fun with Robots PA Day. In our view, children need to touch, manipulate, and experiment with objects to fully understand them. During this PA Day, we will bring physical interaction with our robots helping the participants to understand the process of engineering and programming. Additionally, we incorporate social interaction by encouraging children to work with friends, deepening their understanding through conversation and the sharing of ideas.

Friday, Oct. 20 > Hands-on Electronics with Snap Circuits

Using the Snap Circuits kits, students are introduced to the basic properties of electricity and electronics. They will learn the fundamentals of circuitry and how circuits are used in the technological devices we use today. An overview of a simple circuit, followed by hands-on testing the Snap Circuit kits, will provide insight into the different types of circuits and compare the properties of different electronic components.

Friday, Nov. 17 > Computer Coding (Kodable and Scratch Jr.)

Learning to code is just like teaching a child a new language. Simply by learning the basics of coding can fundamentally change the way in which our children interact with technology. Coding always has a set beginning, progressive middle and definitive end – just like telling a story. It has its own language where every letter in the alphabet has a special formula; and that is what this PA Day is about!

Friday, Jan. 19 > Video Game Creation with Bloxels

The love of playing video games seems to have not ever been this imminent among our children. To understand how video games are designed, in this PA Day, the students are introduced to all the beauties of Bloxels. Bloxels is a hands-on platform for kids to build, collaborate, and tell stories through video game creation. Students can use coloured blocks to design their characters and settings to tell their own amazing stories! Keep the creativity flowing by designing a scientific process, a historical location, or even a story about yourself! The possibilities are endless!

Friday, Feb. 2 > Computer Animation and Computer Music

Most children love to draw, colour and play music from their very young age. They are often fully amused with animated movies and beautiful music. This PA Day, they will be able to be the creator of their own animation story and pieces of music.

Friday, Jun. 7 > Creativity with Legos and K’nex

Children are meant to learn through play. When children are actively engaged in hands-on, interactive learning activities, their creativity flourishes and they show a greater interest in school. In this PA Day, the children will develop a hands-on sense of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) skills, including understanding cause and effect relationships, making predictions and observations, problem-solving, and creating representations.

PA Days for 8-14 age group.

Friday, Sep. 22 > Robotics

Most children love robotics because they get immediate feedback and gratification. The experience is multi-sensory and hands-on, and feeds on their imagination. Over the course of this PA Day, the participants will be programming EV3 Robots and M-Bot. They will be asked to program the robots to complete different challenges.

Friday, Oct. 20 > Hands-on Electronics with Arduino

Coding with Arduino opens up a world of possibilities for electronics enthusiasts and makers. Arduino enables users to program and control a wide range of devices and sensors. Through the Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment), users write code in C/C++ to create interactive projects, from simple LED blinkers to complex robotics and IoT applications. Arduino's versatility, extensive libraries, and supportive community make it an excellent choice for learning and prototyping, making coding and hardware tinkering accessible to both beginners and experienced programmers.

Friday, Nov. 17 > Creative Coding

Learning to code is just like teaching a child a new language. Simply by learning the basics of coding can fundamentally change the way in which our children interact with technology. Coding always has a set beginning, progressive middle and definitive end – just like telling a story. It has its own language where every letter in the alphabet has a special formula.

This thought process has been known to also help children in other aspects of their learning, such as creative writing and oral communication. Children often have big aspirations, and we want to empower them by learning in a fun, hands on and challenging environment which shows them why coding is important in an engaging way.

Friday, Jan. 19 > Video Game Creation

The love of playing video games seems to have not ever been this imminent among our children. To understand how video games are designed, in this PA Day, the students are introduced to all the beauties of Microsoft MakeCode arcade. This video game design platform delivers instant results, providing a block and text editor, and other features that allow children of all ages to learn to design their own video games.

7 > Minecraft Education

Minecraft is a wildly popular sandbox video game known for its open-world creativity and exploration. In Minecraft, players traverse a blocky, procedurally generated world, gathering resources, building structures, and battling monsters. Its limitless possibilities, from constructing intricate architectural marvels to embarking on epic adventures, make it a captivating and educational experience for players of all ages. This PA Day will be all about the exploration of Minecraft and beyond!
