Join our expert staff in daily STEM activities including coding, STEAM crafts, video game design, LEGO challenges, and more!

Our staff deliver all classes virtually and are available live to help provide targeted guidance and assistance to our youngest learners as they work through awesome activities and projects.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Location: From your home! A link to join our virtual classroom will be provided in a separate email once you have registered.

Ages: 4 – 7

Dates & Times: Various dates in May and June from 11:30 am – 12:15 pm EST (Toronto time zone).

Important Information:

  • All children must be supervised by a parent/guardian for the duration of the class.
  • In order to participate in the class, you will need to download Zoom. Your Zoom display name MUST match either your name or your child’s name or you will not be permitted to join the class.
  • For all classes that involve the use of an app (e.g. coding, video game design, etc), you will need 2 devices in order to join the class; 1 device of any kind to view the instructor on and 1 tablet to use the app on. You will need to download the app prior to the start of the class. A phone is not recommended due to the small screen size.
  • Registration for the class closes 24 hours before the program start time. You will receive your onboarding email with all class information by 4:00 pm the day prior to your class.
    • If you do not receive this email, please check your junk mail folder.
    • Please add [email protected] to your approved contacts in order to ensure you receive all communications.
  • You are responsible for reviewing the email in detail and being prepared with all materials before the class start time. Class starts promptly at 11:30 am.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS


Friday, May 29th – LEGO Challenge: One Colour Challenge

Become an engineer with LEGO as you participate in a design challenge! In this class, students will have their creativity pushed to the limits as they are challenged to create a fabulous design with just a single colour of LEGO!

Required Materials:

  • LEGO

  • Lego base (optional)

  • Blank paper

  • Writing utensils


Tuesday, June 2nd – Video Game Design

Learn to design your own video game with Bloxels! Students will create their own fully playable video games and even begin to create their own characters.

Thursday, June 4 – Coding with Kodable

Learn to code with Kodable! Students will learn the basics of code as they complete a variety of fun games and puzzles

Tuesday, June 9th – LEGO Robot Challenge

Become an engineer with LEGO as you participate in a design challenge! In this class, students will be tasked with designing a LEGO robot.

Required Materials:

  • LEGO

  • Lego base (optional)

  • Blank paper

  • Writing utensils


Thursday, June 11th – Coding with Scratch Jr

Learn to code with Scratch Jr! Students will learn the basics of code as they create their own animated stories!

Tuesday, June 16th – Coding with Lightbot

Learn to code with Lightbot! Students will learn the basics of code as they explore fun games and puzzles. 


Thursday, June 18th – LEGO Dream House Challenge

Become an engineer with LEGO as you participate in a design challenge! In this class, students will have their creativity pushed to the limits as they are challenged to create a fabulous dream house!

Tuesday, June 23rd – Coding with Box Island

Learn to code with Box Island! Students will learn the basics of code as they explore fun games and puzzles


Thursday, June 25th – LEGO 100 Piece Challenge

Become an engineer with LEGO as you participate in a design challenge! In this class, students will have their creativity pushed to the limits as they are challenged to create a fabulous design with just 100 pieces of LEGO
