Policies
How refunds, cancellations, credits and weather closures work for STEM Minds programs, camps and STEAM Hub online courses. This page brings together the refund terms from our Policies and Procedures so you can find them in one place.
Summary
A full refund is available before the first class of a program, or before the second class of any program session. After the second class, refunds are not available.
Virtual camps and multi-day online programs: full refund before the second class. Single-day online programs: full refund if requested at least 4 hours before the start time.
STEAM Hub self-directed online courses and subscriptions: you may cancel a STEAM Hub subscription within 7 days of purchase for a full refund if the learner has not completed a module.
Teacher resources and professional development webinars are non-refundable.
Refunds go back to the original payment method or by cheque; at our discretion a store credit valid for 18 months may be offered instead.
In person
To request a refund, email info@stemminds.com with your name, your child’s name and the order number.
A full refund for a program may be provided prior to the start of the first class of a program, or prior to the start of the second class of any program session. Refunds requested after the start of the second class of any program session will not be accommodated.
Partial refunds, credits or make-up sessions for missed classes are not available, except in the case of legitimate medical circumstances (for example a serious injury that prevents participation, or scheduled surgery).
Extended care must be requested when registration is confirmed. No changes, cancellations or refunds are made to extended care after registration is completed.
Online
For Virtual STEM Camps, Virtual Summer Camps and STEAM @ Home programs, a full refund can be offered if (a) it is requested before the start of the second class for multi-day programming, or (b) it is requested no less than 4 hours before the start time of a single-day program. No refunds are provided for failure to attend a class.
No refunds are available for the Virtual Summer School Package Upgrade or for self-directed STEAM on Demand courses.
STEAM Hub subscriptions bought through this website: you may cancel within 7 days of purchase for a full refund, provided the learner has not completed a module. After 7 days, or once a module has been completed, the subscription is non-refundable; you can cancel a recurring subscription at any time to stop future billing, and access continues until the end of the paid period.
Ontario consumers: under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002, you may have additional rights to cancel an online agreement, including where the required information was not provided before you agreed. Nothing in this policy limits those rights.
Credits
Store credits issued are valid for 18 months from the date of issue. Expired coupons or store credits will not be reinstated. You are responsible for the use of your store credit.
Weather and closures
In the event of inclement weather, STEM Minds reserves the right to cancel programs, taking into account school bus cancellations or school closures by our partnering boards, weather warnings, and the closure of municipal buildings, facilities and programs.
Programs cancelled due to inclement weather are non-refundable. Make-up classes will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If a make-up class cannot be accommodated, a refund or a credit towards another program will be provided.
How to ask
Email info@stemminds.com or use the contact form with your name, the learner’s name and the order number. Where a refund is approved, we process it to the original payment method or by cheque.
This page summarises the refund terms in our Policies and Procedures and is read together with our Terms of Use. If the two differ, the Policies and Procedures govern. Effective date: September 22, 2026.
